About us

The story behind Ellas (in) STEM
Ellas en STEM was born out of a real need: the lack of role models, resources, and accessible spaces for women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our founder, after graduating as a civil engineer, realized she knew very few women in her field and that, at key moments in her career, she had no one to turn to for guidance on topics such as graduate studies, industry options, or career development in general.
That personal experience was the driving force behind creating a network that offered what she didn't have: a space where women could connect, learn from each other, and access resources to advance their careers. What began as a project focused on civil engineering has grown to include women in all STEM disciplines, with the goal of breaking down barriers and demonstrating that talent has no gender.
Ellas en STEM works under the premise that the problem isn't a lack of capacity, but rather a lack of access to information, organization, and resources. Therefore, we are committed to offering:
Mentoring and career guidance to guide women at different stages of their careers.
Networking spaces that connect professionals, academics, and students.
Educational events and programs designed to inspire, inform, and empower our community.
We believe that building an inclusive future in STEM benefits not only women but also society as a whole.
Our commitment is to create a lasting impact, ensuring that future generations have the tools they need to succeed and transform the world.
With your support, we can continue to strengthen our mission, reach further, and make diversity and equity the standard in STEM.
